So one of my favorite songs of all time is by a group called Hybrid, entitled "Dreaming Your Dreams." I love the construction, I love the flow, I love the music / beat / everything else...The question I'm wondering about is regarding the lyrics. I think it's at least an alright love song if not my favorite, but, well, the only lyrics are in the chorus and they are as follows:
"'Cause where you're going, I'll follow you (follow you)
And what you're feeling, I'll feel for you (feel for you)
And what you're hearing, I'm singing for you
And when you're sleeping, I'm dreaming your dreams for you"
Tell me if I'm just crazy, but that last line sounds like some combination of sweet and stalkerish. I think it's mostly the "when you're sleeping" part that does it. Opinions?

Haha, I think that the last line IS really stalkerish. I think the reason it seems like that is probably because dreams are so private, compared to going somewhere, feeling something, or hearing something.
So it's kind of awkward because of that.
It wouldn't have occurred to me that it was stalkerish unless you had said something. In a way, the last line reminds of being a parent. Parents often watch their babies when they sleep ... and you do dream dreams for them ... you want them to grow up to be happy and healthy.
Remember this is a LOVE SONG. Females like LOVE SONGS and the romance and the mystery. Girls like that stuff. It wouldn't occur to most of them that the song sounded stalkerish ... until someone pointed it out.
Before I read your last paragraph, I was sighing and going "Ooohhhh, that's so sweet. Daniel is so sensitive." After I read your last paragraph, I said to myself, "Daniel thinks too much."
not all girls (i think i'm a girl although your young boy cousins rebel at that thought and tell me in no uncertain terms that YOU ARE A WOMAN, i guess cause they hear me roar) like romance. i like the reality. i grew up knowing that there are no fairy tales and there are no prince charmings...just mostly frogs with less warts than others. And that a person who goes to work in the morning and comes home at night and stays true to you and your family is the only way to go. and i don't want nobody dreaming my dreams for me anymore than i want them to open a car door for me. and i don't think guys should follow girls around. and i don't think guys should feel girls feelings. and i don't think guys and girls can be best friends because their brains are just too different. i do think a guy makes the best lover, however, at least for this girl. but, i'm old and i'm weird and what do i know. one thing i do know....kpo is right. the girl who gets you is one lucky hunk of burnin' love. you are a livin', breathin', delightful, doll guy. aren't you sorry you asked?
but, if all the above were not true, i would think it is a lovely, well written song...and very romantic. along the lines of: "Just the way you look tonight" and "Younger than Springtime" and "All the Things You Are." Keep singin those love songs.
I think something that's appealing about the words is that they somewhat echo Ruth 1:16, 17. Ruth even says "where you die, I will die and there will I be buried."
In regard to "if all the above were not true," it's not. It's a person's self report and opinion. There may be truth in it (could be more or less than in this comment). The beauty of blogging and responding, in my opinion, is that you get to see what others choose to show you and to show others what you choose to let them see. You don't, however, necessarily get to the truth of any matter.
